Dr. Sharan Srinivasan was awarded NAF’s Young Investigator Grant in 2021. At the time, he was a Clinical Movement Disorders Fellow just beginning his work in Ataxia. What fueled his passion?
“I was struck by how little there was to offer and how much need there was to help people and come up with ways to treat these diseases.”
With NAF’s support, he developed model systems and explored potential genetic therapies. Today, Dr. Srinivasan continues work on SCA1 at the University of Michigan and remains a dedicated member of the Ataxia community.
