Hello, I’m new here! I’m awaiting a diagnosis for possibly Episodic Ataxia. Some days I’m fine and other days I’m finding it hard to function/walk. Looking at occasional wheelchair use. I had a blood test for EA1 and EA2 6 weeks ago and still don’t have the results back. The neurologist won’t give me a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long it can take? I feel like I’m in limbo and I have two under 5s so really need to know what’s going on! Thank you.
Hi Una Welcome
It’s hard to estimate how long it’ll take for your test results, with the current covid situation results could easily be delayed. Results for any testing I’ve had done has run into months, so I know how frustrating these waits can be. I hope you get news soon

Hello Una
Seenie here from Admin. Welcome to the Ataxia support community. We’re glad that you found us, even though this isn’t a club that anybody wants to join. We get it!
We were tinkering with the site earlier today, and your post was inadvertently moved to another thread. It’s in the right place now (that would be here!), but there may still be some “tracking” notes left to indicate what happened. Just ignore them: they mean something to us, but nothing to anyone else.
This is a lovely, supportive and well-moderated community. It’s great that you’ve already introduced yourself and become acquainted with Beryl. Please contribute and discuss! If there’s anything you’d like to search for on the site, the search engine is quite good: click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right quarter of the screen and away you go.
BTW if you contribute to any existing threads, the other contributors on that thread will be notified of your comments. Often that will breathe new life into a discussion that’s been dormant for a while.
All the best to you! Stay safe and healthy and have a good day.
Seenie
