I know that many people with Ataxia cannot even leave their beds, so I feel guilty for mentioning this. I went with my wife to one of the villages in my city. She did'nt feel like cooking so we were hoping to get a sandwich in a pub there. Getting out of the car was OK, but several minutes later my OH set in and became so bad that it turned into total ataxia and I collapsed in the street. I could not even hold on to anything because I did not have enough control over my arms to reach for anything. That included my wife's open hand. It took me a long time before I was able to cautiously stand up and move back to the car.
The reason I bring this up here is 1) this total collapse in the street happened to me the very first time, though I have had OH since age 11, and 2) I wonder if other OH/Ataxia/EA patients experience this type of whole body ataxia, too.
