For all Health Care Professionals to respect, acknowledge, care and give the treatment and medication patients needed.
Dear Jeremy Hunt (MP), Malcolm Grant (CBE), General Practitioners, Consultants, Registrars, Doctors, Nurses and any other person reading this petition.

My name is Daniel Lipzith, I am currently living with a long term health condition resulting in me having constant high levels of chronic pain which never goes away and I have done now for the past 5 years. Due to the pain and my condition, I have a number of other health issues/conditions which also have a huge impact on my life and day to day living, such as sleep problems, depression, stress, anxiety and more, and because of this I see a number of Health Care Professionals (GP’s, Pain Specialist Nurses and Doctors, Psychiatrist, etc.) and have undergone a large amount of treatments (Medication, Surgeries, Mental Health Input, etc.)

The reason for this petition is to get GP’s and all other Health Care Professionals to listen to their patients and offer the support and treatment that is needed for health conditions such as mine and other Long Term Disabilities, Health Problems, Chronic Pain, Sleep problems, Depression, Anxiety and Emotional needs and give the ‘Person’ the option weather they think the dependency/ side effects/ risk of the medication, treatment or surgery for their condition/issues are worth the risk that come with them over the option and risk of living with their issue/condition.

Also GP’s and other Health Care Professionals to listen to the wants and opinions of the ‘Person’ rather than doing/giving what they think a person needs without consulting with them. Patients are put on a number of different medications, and treatments, and these are then changed time and time again without the ‘person’ been asked if that is what they want or even what they think about it. GP’s and Health Care Professionals should communicate with the ‘Person’ and allow them to be involved in ALL their health care. But this doesn’t happen, even with the NHS Choice policy, and large numbers of GP’s and Health Care Professionals are doing things, giving treatment, sending them for tests, and even operations without asking what the person actually wants, if they actually understand the treatment or operation all because they think they know what is best for that person. Equality is about treating all people the same, but they should understand that what is best for one person isn’t the same for another.

What GP’s and other Health Care Professionals need to remember and realise is that people with Long Term Health Conditions are live with their condition day in, day out. Hour after hour, and know what their bodies are going through and feeling, and are experts on their condition and how they live with it. These issues should be realised and acknowledged, but yet GP’s and Health Care Professionals are just dismissing people and are still doing what they think should be done.

One of the key areas for this petition is to get ALL the GP’s, and other Health Care Workers, to give the treatment, medication or procedure to patient’s, that they clearly need for the treatment of their, issue or condition rather than worrying about money and dependency. If medication, treatment or surgery is available to a person for their condition, and is clearly needed then patients should be given the option to have it and the information should be given to the patient to allow them to make an informed choice about that treatment and weather it is right for them. I am starting this petition on behalf of myself and anyone else who has signed this, because during my time been in pain and going through the NHS health care system and also a large number of my friends who also are currently living with a long term condition, disabilities, health problems, and chronic pain are having problems getting the treatment and help they need and deserve from their GP’s, Health workers, and other health care professionals. Large numbers of people living with long term health conditions go see their GP, Consultant, whatever health care worker there seeing and are spending 3-5 minutes with their doctor, rather than the time they should have, because they are been rushed through and as a result not getting any benefit from it. People are feeling like they’re not been listen to, dismissing them because the doctor thinks the person is wrong and also that what they need and want isn’t been taken into consideration. People living with a long term health problem are experts on their own condition, but just because the health care worker has been to university, college or had training, they think they know what is best and ignore the person’s opinion. A large number of us have noticed that when it comes to treating people for our health issue and issues relating to this such as sleep problems, mental health, anxiety and much more the doctors are more bothered and worried about addiction to a medication than the actual treating of the patient’s issues. The doctors rather than looking at ‘us’ as a patient just see us a drug addicts. Large numbers of patients have to go through these health issues without any support from their Health Care Worker even though the support could be offered but don’t get it for these reason. Also when it comes to patient care there is too much worrying about cost cutting and side-swiping just to try and make short-term savings which result in more severe problems and worsening of symptoms with care of the patients in the long term which most of the time just results in more money spending on the patient in the long run. A large number of GP’s are worried about prescribing certain medications due to their cost, even though the patient will clearly benefit and needs the medication or treatment. Also the standard of care that patients are receiving with long term, life changing conditions needs improving ten times over

.

Thank you for taking the time to read this petition, although a large number of the points made in this petition should be things Health Care Providers should be doing already, a large number aren’t doing this, showing there clearly needs to be a change, so we believe it is very important to a large number of people and I hope that you can see with the number of people that have signed this petition and are backing it that you will take into consideration our wants and needs and realise what needs changing and you will implement them with the help of myself and other. Also listen to what we as service users have to say and not dismiss us without taking our opinions into account.

Thanks again, for taking the time to read this.

Champ,

You describing your symptoms you have all the symptoms of magnesium deficiency. There is a test you can take it is

called RBC magnesium I would start at 500 mg 1/2 morning and night. You should take vitamin D 5000 iu and 1000 mg calcium. If you have kidney problems a doctor should be involved. Not all laboratories do it so you have to ask around. Here is a article on magnesium deficiency.

Champ,

If it is magnesium deficiency I started with calcium 1000 mg 500 mg magnesium 1/2 morning and night. When my body got used to the magnesium I upped my dosage to 1000 mg calcium and 1000 mg magnesium 1/2 dosage morning and night.

Taking to much magnesium all at once causes diarrhea so you have to go 1/2 dosage at a time.

Steve, which came first, the chicken or the egg? Calcium and magnesium deficiency are often the result of the drugs we are put on for chronic pain, ie the deficiency came after the chronic pain, not as a result of. Carbamazepine is a good example of a drug that does this.

I know you mean well but perhaps rather than playing doctor to all the members of this site and saying virtually all of us need zinc, calcium and/or magnesium, you could message the member privately.

Glad to sign the petition. I am a member of change org. All the best

Poppy,

Being deficient in magnesium causes pain magnesium prevents calcium from building up in the tissues and joints causing

pain. I take calcium magnesium to prevent the body from taking to much calcium from the bones making them brittle. Everyone needs vitamin and mineral for good health as they age. If you donot take vitamins minerals you can become deficient in certain vitamin and minerals it doesn't matter if you take drugs. Drugs speed up the deficiencies.

Thank you to everyone for your replies. It’s not my petition Steve. I posted it on his behalf. It effects us all. I agree, nutrition is important. Carry on voting people. Every vote counts. Thank you punk. We need more people like you.
