Are these symptoms from some kind of a Ataxia

I spoke with someone today who has a 18 year old relative that had some similar symptoms to mine. However, she had several major ones that I hadn't heard of before. I've got gluten ataxia and just wondering if these symptoms sound like another form of ataxia. She has episodes of stumbling, falling, memory lapses and stuttering. They also said that when she falls her feet turn bright red just before and then her knees buckle. She is unable to drive because she doesn't know when an episode might strike. She's been gluten free for a couple of years and cut out dairy and sugar a while back. It hasn't made much of a difference. Any imput anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you folky, this definitely helps! I will give them this info so that they can do some research about. I felt like I had so little help to offer because diet has helped me tremendously and hasn't helped her much. Thanks again!

Has she already consulted a neurologist?

I think she has but I'm not totally sure.

i think the periodic ataxias are relatively easily to diagnose..

Or is this also difficult?

Kind regards, Akita
