Tiredness/weakness: You need to build up slowly if you are not used to regular exercise. On the other hand it may be muscle atrophy which is often associated with Ataxia. My neurologist always checks for this during visits and so far I have been lucky. Your G.P. can also easily check for this.
Cramping: I used to experience severe leg cramps, not during exercise, but often at night. I started taking magnesium supplements for AFIB which I also have and unexpectedly the cramping ceased and never returned. It might be worth a try.
Worsening symptoms after exercise: My balance improves after cardio and weightlifting although the effects are transitory. Ataxia has so many iterations it is often difficult to determine the cause of certain actions.
I have exercised strenuously all of my life and I do find it frustrating that my Ataxia continues to progress albeit slowly. It may or may not be that the slowness of my progression is a result of exercise. In any case exercise provides a multiple of benefits and almost everyone can do something within their limitations.
