I'm sorry for your loss, I had to put down my Westie recently too, he was 13 with diabetes and not doing well. I'm not going thru that again and with my Ataxia it is not fare to my loved ones and the dog you may leave. Only my opinion.
I have thought about your loss several days and I hope you do what is best for you.
