Chas, we’ve chatted so often I’ve come to think of you and Beryl as friends. I can see you both in my mind’s eye. You live in a house at the bottom of my road. Beryl lives a few streets away in the house where I lived as a child. I sympathise with you. How come we’re alive? It should be us that are dead. I’ve often thought of the irony.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Sadly my lovely friend (who was my rock) committed suicide recently and like you I am so sad. We are living through (or trying to) such terrible times and with SCA 1 I’m so isolated. I can only say that you are not alone and mutual support is the only way through this. Try to stay strong and as you say, everyone be so very careful. My love and wishes to you,
