hi Suzi, My son who has ataxia and myself live inTterrigal on the central coast Sydney N.S.W I think this is a fab idea,as if pple are in the same area country maybe they can hook up and have a support group, where they can meet and share their journey.
I believe tassie is a great place to live bit like New Zealand, my son who has sca4 and myself live in Terrigal on the Central Coast NSW It would be so great if we found pple in australia with whom we could met, and get together from time to time to share our journey. Dont see alot of Aussie on this site unfortunately

How old is your son, piaf?
You'd be closest to me, if the Great Dividing Range didn't get in the road.....

I think we have enough Aussies to make our own subgroup. Can we do that?

Hi Suzi,
My mom and I both have unknown ataxia. We still donât know what kind it is. We live in Chicago, IL.
anybody from san francisco? lol
id' love to visit but heard it has steep hills that are tough even for non ataxians.
btw, doesn't the word ataxian sound like we're a special group of species?
like we're X-Men or some sort of super hero group. Most of us would be like Professor Xavier! lol
Im sorry if you dont like my child like imagination. This is how I stay positive.
I love your imagination. Donât be sorry about it, we need it to survive this often too tough world.
But to come back to the different species, I think we are more like Martians, donât you think?
PS If you go to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair as the song saysâŚ
Keep dreaming!
Thanks! I guess we can be like martians too, because most of us speak our own unique language that no one understands but our own selves. LOL

Hi Lia,
My family ( and SCA3) are from Herkimer County - I went to college in Cobleskill. Do you know any Lidells or Wohrdens?

Hi Doug,
Isn't Cobleskill such a beautiful place? I would so live in upstate NY again, although navigating the snow would be a challenge. Maybe I could retire and spend the whole winter by the fire with hot chocolate and a big cat on my lap! That actually sounds like a pretty good plan!
I go to PA too. My son lives near Philly. Where is your family?
