After my Ataxia diagnose I started taking PEA pills (3 pills a day).
PEA is a natural substance that strengthens our body’s ability to recover, reduces pain and inhibits inflammation that gets out of hand. N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)hexadecanamide or Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), the difficult names for this endogenous substance.
=> My opinion: I see no dofference but it cannot do harm I’m thinking
I’m sure many of us ‘tinker’ with supplements hoping they will improve something. I’ve tried a few things half heartedly myself…but never for any length of time.
I post this in case anybody was considering taking PEA…
It’s always advisable to check supplement info…in case of possible interaction with current prescribed medication etc…
When taken by mouth : PEA is possibly safe when used for up to 3 months. It’s usually well tolerated but might cause nausea in some people. There isn’t enough reliable information to know if PEA is safe to use for longer than 3 months.
When applied to the skin : PEA is possibly safe when used for up to 28 days.
