For those that have difficulty with speaking and communicating

I have read how some people have trouble communicating on this website. My son’s speech therapist suggested using an ipod and the Proloquo app. http://www.assistiveware.com/products . There are demos on the website. My son doesn’t want to appear different and this will be more low key than those communication boards, etc. as you can use it on iphone, ipad or ipod.

Proloquo is an award-winning Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) solution for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for people who have difficulty speaking or cannot speak at all. It enables people to talk using symbols or typed text in a natural-sounding voice that suits their age and character.

There are different levels, pictures to actual typed messages. There are also voices that talk for you. There are different voices that you can choose from. If you are able to use the touch screen on the ipod, ipad or iphone this may help you. I think it cost about $190.00 and I am saving to get one. My speech has not messed up permanently yet so I am going to get this for both of us.

I hope this helps people. I was excited to find out about it. Some therapist don’t even know about this technology. Just found out this program below is coming out soon!! Which we will like because it will be like texting but will talk for us.

Coming soon: Proloquo4Text! Proloquo4Text, will launch soon with introductory 50% savings offer. Proloquo4Text is a text-based communication app for people who cannot speak. http://www.assistiveware.com/product/proloquo4text

There is another program on the market now Proloquo2Go. Here is a link to videos how to work it. http://www.assistiveware.com/e-learning I'm holding out to see what the Proloquo4 Text app is before I buy Proloquo2Go. I think we will like the Proloquo4 Text app better for our needs.

Thanks, I will look at this, I have problems talking.

Jerry

there are demos/videos on how to work the Pro2 on website. I am waiting to check out the Proloquo4. I think we will like the text version better. The Proloquo2Go is designed for children to adults. Kids have pictures to touch while there are typing options for adults.

Jerry I am also checking out that Balance Wear Vest from Motiontherapeutics.com that Kathy G told me about on this website. I have balance issues and this looks like a great product.
