I have been following this company for a couple of years. At last there is a UK supplier, they do not stock women's yet but I have contacted the companys owner she is lovely and will be ordering some women's soon. If anybody wants a womans blouse contact them with your interest.
This is a wonderful idea, I hope they keep the pricing reasonable so that they are affordable to everyone who needs them. I hope that they include the Women's clothing, and for that matter intro children's clothing w/ magnetic closures.
Unfortunately, we would not be able to use this in our home, where magnets can actually cause a problem. In addition to our daughter with SCA we have two daughters with programmable VP shunts in their brains for their hydrocephalus. These shunts can be accidentally reprogrammed when coming into close contact with magnets.
Good idea for the clothes and good point from Neuro Mom.
Magnets can be a problem for people with implanted devices, such as brain implants and also pacemakers and defibrillators (ICD) and others…
I have an ICD and triggered the built in alarm once, by holding a purse against my chest. There was a little closure magnet on the purse pocket, and this is all it took!
Fortunately, the ICD does not reprogram itself, but just stops functioning if a magnet is applied on it. Once away from the magnet, it starts functioning within a few seconds and the alarm shuts off. Scary experience!
I wonder if this would help at all. I guess it is worth a try. I heard about the vest and understood that the doctor would design it to meet your particular needs. I would like to get a vest but don't live near the doctors that specialize in it.
Thanks for your comments. It is good to know that your ICD will still work after the magnetic interference is removed. I learned something new today, I did not know that.
We found out the hard way about the magnets and our eldest daughter's shunt. Shortly after having it reset after a routine MRI, she got very sick. Vomitting, light intolerance, dizziness, couldn't hold her head up. In the ER they tested the setting on her shunt. It was at the highest possible drainage setting, when weeks before it had been reset to the lowest. Her ventricles had overdrained, and she was experiencing slit ventricle syndrome. She was on a morphine/torridol/zofran IV drip for almost a week before they were able to get her rehydrated enough and stabilized. Really scary experience, so we are watchful of any magnetic devices including many children's toys like Thomas the tank & Brio trains, with those big connecting magnets. I wondered if any of the brain stimulators they are implanting have magnetic issues as well? I guess I best get reading. Thanks again.

I never realized the power of those tiny magnets...
Well I looked it up, neuro stimulators ARE affected by magnets, and come with a warning about magnetic interferences, so folks who have these implants should steer clear af magnets in clothing as well. I wonder what else might work?

Hi Neuro Mom!
Scary experience for you too!
When the magnet incident happened, I called the doctor right away, and he told me to send him an interrogation through the phone to make sure the ICD had started again.( I have a little gadget that allows me to transmit the data from the ICD to the doctors’ computer. All was fine. But now, when I see a magnet, I am even more careful. We, bionic beings are very high maintenance
For your info, there are bathroom scales that have warnings on them about interferences with implanted devices. I think they are the ones that calculate your Body Mass Index.
It is a jungle full of dangers out there…
Take care. You must be a busy Mom with those little ones!
PS another thought. Watch out for jewelry with magnet closures and clasps. Extremely powerful too.
Thanks for mentioning these other possible magnetic dangers, wow! So much to keep an eye out for, and so little that has a medical document supporting it, that you can locate online. Yes, we are busy bees here, but we are blessed to be in this together.
Further inspection of the features of one of the shirts does reveal a warning about using it if you have a pacemaker. Its an easy to miss warning though and has (I could not see) not other warning!
Might be worth contacting magna ready in the USA for further details or questions about the product. I have to look smart for work so will be trying one - I have to get my buttons resewn using sherling elastic so I can put my blouses over my head. Worth the price to have my independence back

Wow! Those shirts seem expensive. I suppose they are of asimilar price to other similar quality goods though.
I just had aquick look at the linked page and did not see any 'danger' warnings - maybe the sellers need to look into this.
Sound advice suggesting finding out more about the product.
On reflection, the price point for these specialist items seems fair. I just know how hard it is financially for some folk!
I agree with you about the value of independance too. :)
Kindest regards.
