I use the thinking part of my brain to get round problems as my motor skills are bad now.Thank goodness that bit of my brain is still working.
I don't get pain but I have been told it can be bad.

Sam,
I've always been a big believer in marijuana. After not smoking/ingesting for many years, I figured "what the heck"? I had read several articles, geared mainly towards the spasticity and clonus for parkinsons and MS. Then I figured since Ataxia brings on those thing, it must help me. So I started eating brownies, since my lungs stink, and I was right. Now it's back in my life :).

You traded in a natural drug for a manufactured one, but your choice is your choice :).

Hi Sam. I have spinocellebellar ataxia and I personally have noticed an improvement since I've stopped using medicinal marijuana. Just wanted to mention that.
I take medication for my leg tingling and pain... I also rub my legs and feet when it gets bad. I haven't had much luck with the dizzy spells other than sitting down or resting whenever I start to feel it and trying not to overexert myself.
Please feel free to contact me here if you would like to discuss it further. I'm always up for talking.
Best of Luck!
Darcy
My wife (with ca) used to smoke on occasion, and it did improve some of the symptoms. That could be mainly because of the āslow, deliberateā way most stoned people move and think. I am almost certain that it does not have any effect on the condition, although as some report here it may add other symptoms that make it worse, such as dizziness.
I am also sure that most people taking cannabis for a long period of time (daily for decades), it has a severe effect on personality and mental health, Some people do not get affected, but they are in the minority in my experience.
Where did you go for stem cell therapy and did it help at all. Thank you, Barbara

I have a form of ataxia, not sure witch and I use cannabis edibles for sleep. I get my 8 hours and wake feeling good. I have not seen any way it helps my condition but it sure is good for relaxing the mind may be helping with other ails that I have, Jerry
Also about cannabis I have been around cannabis for about 60 yrs and also smoke during the day, I no longer get any high from smokeing but just the relaxation effect. It may bother some people who have blood pressure problems but otherwise far safer than any meds that are prescribed. Jerry
Yes, I do know of people with various forms of ataxia that have all those symptoms. Wearing a patch can help with double vision and dizziness. I dont know about marijuana but good luck with that.
I find a balance between rest and exercise is the best course of action. Take care.
Can I ask where you went for stem cell treatment? Was it China?

Dear friend,
There are no such thing as medical marijuana. The claim "medical" is only used by drug pushers to encourage drug use among young people for their own profit. The "good" effects you are feeling might only be a placebo effect.
I am a Registered Nurse and would never give my 15 year old daughter Marijuana (she was diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia last March) no matter what others may claim. What I am doing to be of help to my daughter and encourage you to do, is to research ayurvedic medicine and cross refer the information you get with our evidence based medical knowledge. After all this I than plan to use what is known to be medically 100% safe to delay or eliminate any of her symptoms.
If you need further help you can e-mail me whenever you like.
@Noel,
I do agree with you that there is no medical in marijuana. As far as any profit being made by drug pushers, I hope you know that is our gov't. Marijuana has always had medicinal benefits. The medical part set by our gov't, was to entice the
clueless among us, so they (our gov't) could enjoy the profit.
If they found alcohol to have medicinal benefits also, believe me, our gov't would create a nice marketing phrase as well.
Removing THC from marijuana doesn't make it "medical" marijuana. So if they took nicotine out of cigarettes they'd become "medical" cigarettes? WOW
I think if you dont know what you are talking about you should just keep quiet or do a little more reading and research. If you dont think its of any use to someone leave it alone but dont deny somebody else a chance to see if it can help. Read up on the history of why cannabis was outlawed before you talk like you know it all. Jerry
I don't know who you're talking to and I don't care. Who the heck was talking about it being outlawed, I thought we were talking about how marijuana had benefits. And the bogus medical shouldn't be associated with it. BTW, the history of why it's outlawed, I'M SURE, was a fabrication to simply put ease to people mind. The very fact that alcohol, daily killer, is legal and marijuana, which does no such thing, isn't, proves that. So I suggest you just smoke a joint and get on the make it legal caravan.
If a person does not know information on a subject they should just admit it. not just push their agenda because they wont try to learn more on the subject which is, is cannabis helpful. Since when is it a crime for a person to feel relaxed and feel good or be able to get a good nights sleep. Or for a child to not have so many seizures. Or relieve the pressure on the eyes from glaucoma. Try it or don't but don't try to teach how bad it is if you are ignorant of the facts. The government supplies legal cannabis to some patients. One is an investment counselor with tumors all over his body that cannabis keeps under control, and they think like you.
I canāt wait for dispensaries here in Mass. It really helps me sleep like a baby.
Thank-youā¦keep us postedā¦
Here in Texas CBD oil is legal but only to treat epilepsy which is okay by me since I personally donāt have a need (others might) I vote for keeping the genie in the bottle
Get a life of sorts maybe find a āsystemāāā¦
Hi Patsy . Iāve just seen an old post and you said that a patch can help with double vision and dizziness. Iāve not heard of that .can you tell me what it is and where I can get it.thankyou Anna
