Dear Alan,
My name is Dr. Assaf Breska and I am a scientist working with Professor Rich Ivry at UC Berkeley on his studies of ataxia.
We are writing to you because you have worked with Prof. Ivry’s group in the past at NAF meetings or been in contact with us about an interest in being a research participant. Our research program investigates how the brain produces coordinated movements, and how these abilities are affected by neurological conditions such as ataxia.
I’m writing to inform you that we will be attending the NAF meeting in Orlando, Florida this coming April. As in previous years, we will maintain an Information Booth to update you on our work. We will also be organizing and running some on-site testing. If you are planning to attend the conference, we hope to enlist you to participate in our study this year.
The testing will last about one hour and can be scheduled to any time from Thursday afternoon to Sunday afternoon during the conference. We have a very flexible schedule and can work to arrange a time so that the testing does not interfere with your other activities at the conference. If you prefer to schedule in advance, please let me know your preferred day.
